Welcome to Retina Center of New Jersey, LLC (RCNJ). The Retina Center of New Jersey was founded in 2010 by Dr. Patrick M. Higgins in Bloomfield, NJ, specializing in diseases/surgery of the retina, vitreous and macula.  We are a leader in comprehensive vitreo-retinal eye care. What was originally established as a one physician, one location practice has grown significantly and currently has six offices located in: Bloomfield, North BergenRamsey, TeaneckUnion and  Wayne New Jersey.  Dr. Kurt T. Jackson (2013) Dr. Lauren A. Kallina (2014), Dr. Lee M. Angioletti (2017), Dr. Louis V. Angioletti Jr. (2017),  Dr. Justin Gutman (2017) and most recently, Dr. Adnan Mallick (2020) have all joined the Retina Center of New Jersey family.

We are not only one of the largest retina/ophthalmology clinical research centers in the state of New Jersey, but we are one of the largest research centers on the entire east coast. Our physicians and research staff pride themselves with participating in over 80 clinical trials dating back to 1998, which included many of the pharmaceuticals that are currently utilized as standard of care in the retina/ophthalmology field today.

At the Retina Center of New Jersey, our physicians have undergone specialized training to diagnose and treat the following conditions: Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO), Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO), Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR), Retinal Artery Occlusion, Complications of Cataract Surgery, Cystoid Macular Edema (CME), Degenerative Myopia, Diabetic Macular Edema (DME), Diabetic Retinopathy, Epiretinal Membrane, Lattice Degeneration, Macular Hole, Macular Pucker, Posterior Vitreous Detachment (PVD), Retinal Detachment, Retinal Disorders, Retinal Tear (Flashes & Floaters), Uveitis, Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome, and Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome (VMT).
